London-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Jimmy Deer has made a career thus far quietly supporting other artists. Signed early on to TVT records with Chicago downtempo/trip-hop group The Baldwin Brothers, he soon found himself deeper in the city’s music scene, contributing his distinctive bass and guitar work to many records by house luminary Roy Davis Jr., including several #1 Billboard Dance remixes. Beyond the world of dance or electronic, you may have heard his edgy, guitar-driven cues on some of your favorite TV shows including his seductive 1970’s inspired funk in the Lionsgate feature “Knock Knock,” or his versatile scoring of Brawler Films’ cult flick “The 60 Yard Line.” A clearly multifaceted artist, in 2016 Deer knew it was time to start focusing as an artist on his longtime passion of house music. Now going under the moniker Jimmy Right Now, Deer is actively releasing music on his own emblem Subcutaneous Records.
