It’s July and summer is in full swing! In Canada summer is a really a big deal since we only have a limited amount of time to enjoy the outdoors without freezing our asses off.  In the Maritimes the month of July brings us the best electronic music with not 1, not 2 but 3 festivals on the same month.  Two of them are very well-known already and a new one in a familiar place. These are the places you should be this month.

Evolve

The veteran festival has a new location and had a full year to plan, this time with no issues.  This year is betting more on live music with bands than djs. But its still has a good share of electronic acts such as the very buzzing Mau5trap artist Rezz, Flinch, Zeke Beats and a good load of local acts.  Evolve has a very loyal crowd, it would not surprise us that people will have a good time as they had in previous years but with a new location the festival hopes to get a newer audience to get bigger.

Shakedown Bass

This is a brand new fully electronic festival taking place in the Shakedown Ranch, known for other festivals such as: Midsummer Madness and Collaborate and Listen. This is stacked with local and Canadian talent such as Whipped Cream, Matt The Alien and Downlink. This is a very heavy Bass Festival but you will still have your regular House music and Techno stages to even things out.  The other cool thing is that the price is lower than many of the festival going around.   So if you want to get a lot of bass for you buck this is a very good option.

Future Forest

This festival has raised the bar every single year by giving us the some of the best electronic music experience with wonderful stages, fun loving people and very good acts. Not only do they bring the local acts but also a fair amount of up and coming international acts. This year the lineup is massive and very diverse when it comes to electronic music plus a bunch of other elements such as dancers, art performers, vjs, visual arts etc.. This makes the festival one of the fullest electronic experiences that you can get. With a new location, we are going to have to wait and see how it plays out this year.
