The electronic music world is constantly changing. Back in the day, we had the Winter Music Conference, and South American Music Conference to attend, where records could be broken and information on what to look for in the upcoming year could be shared. Those days are long gone, however, there are still some conferences remaining, such as the Ibiza Music Summit and the Brazil Music Conference, but the one that everybody has their eyes on is the one that takes place in Amsterdam. Unless you’ve been under a rock for the past 10 years, then you should know that ADE is and has been a force to be reckoned with when it comes to business and parties. It probably helps that it’s located where the tourist industry is already booming. If you haven’t gone to ADE yet, here are some reasons you should probably plan a trip:
The Business
If you are an up and coming DJ, Producer, or Promoter attending ADE is simply a must! The event has every mover and shaker out there. There are tons of different people, from different business levels you can network with that attend. This is truly an amazing opportunity because you can do it on a personal level instead of just online.
The Parties
I don’t know how much I can say about ADE that you haven’t heard before. Although some of their events are more mainstream than others, they still feature mostly underground techno and house music. Now you can pretty much find anything official and unofficial, from Drum & Bass to Hardstyle or even a chillout set at a lounge somewhere. The fact is, that there is a little bit of everything for everybody. You can find most information via their official website but there is way more going on than what can be found on there. It’s going to be hard to keep up with everything so just choose to go see the ones that you really want to see.
The City
Not only is this Conference amazing because of what it has to offer but also the city that it takes place in. Amsterdam is a beautiful city with lots to see. Even if you take a day off from all of the events at the conference you will still find lots to see and do to in the city alone. The city’s atmosphere is so lovely that it’s almost magical.
The Sounds
In ADE you will hear nearly every fresh sound there is. You will discover new music and artists as if you were on Spotify or Beatport. The amount of acts performing is astronomical to the point that you will be wondering “How come I haven’t heard this before?” ADE is going to make you feel like you haven’t been listening even if you are a veteran of the dance music scene. The fact is, nothing can compare to this annual event. Every year is a unique experience and it’s something that is worth checking out.
