Techno in Atlantic Canada it’s just awesome!!! That’s the best way I can describe it. We don’t have that many producers or djs but the ones that we have make a lot of great angry dance music. As most techno artist they are pretty underground and some of them hardly play in the area, in fact some of them play more outside to an international crowd. If you want to know what they are all about here are some of artist and tracks that you should check out.
Charife
He’s one of the most active in the Maritimes, and has played in some of the most important festivals in the region. He does a lot of work around the Halifax scene and is part of the Naked Lunch Agency.
Variant
Originally from the UK now living in Moncton NB he’s the head of the label Almag8 Musiq and has a weekly radio show on Fnoob Radio. His tracks have charted in the beatport top 100 and get played from renowned djs like Anthony Pappa. He has more a of a dark techno approach.
Ben Rama
Ben Rama is more known outside Atlantic Canada and has played in places like Costa Rica, Mexico, United State and of course Canada. We has a unique style of Techno music and released stuff in different labels around the globe.
There are other producers as well that dont do techno as much as the ones we just mention but htye have some tracks you can check out as well.
