Check out the new video from producer Xinobi in title Skateboarding. The track is encompassing a turning point in Xinobi’s life. As a suburb kid in the late 80s, he was obsessed with the skateboarding culture, and had a strong urge to get himself a skateboard. When he finally did, Xinobi experienced a fatal fracture in his arm resulting in two surgeries. This was an abrupt and unexpected end to his skateboarding career. In rehabilitation from his injury Xinobi was encouraged to train his fingers by playing the guitar.

Despite his serious injury, Xinobi still had a strong affiliation to the culture, one which envisioned an inherent connection for music and other aspects surrounding it. It completely shaped Xinobi’s life path, both as an individual and artist. ‘Skateboarding’ is an ethereal electronic track, full of spiralling but melancholic melodies, sparkled by striking pianos appearing out of place. The track is partly a homage to one of Xinobi’s idols, namely Ian Mackaye. The track features a speech from Ian MacKaye about his perspectives of skateboarding, and this is aligned with Xinobi’s perceptions and conceptualization of the culture.”
